I am beyond excited to introduce you to my latest collaboration with Untamed Fernie.

Untamed Fernie makes the most beautiful long tops that are made from super soft, breathable bamboo fabric. We have collaborated together to incorporate my art pieces as a back panel to her incredible designs.

Untamed Fernie is proud to be a part of the Slow Fashion movement; they believe that you can get affordable, good quality, comfortable clothing that is also good for the planet. 

Clothing has become disposable. As a result, we generate more and more textile waste, causing the fashion industry to become one of the worst polluters globally. Untamed’s founder Emma Stevens wants to do her part to change this. She wants her customers to feel good about how her designs make them look and feel, as well as feel good about their shopping decision.

The slow fashion movement makes people think about their shopping habits and how their choices affect others and the planet. It encourages the consumer to buy fewer clothes of higher quality that is made to last, instead of made to be disposed of after a few uses. Continuing to purchase new clothes will not change your life in any real way, but if we all start switching to slow fashion, the world will truly benefit.

Meet Untamed Fernie’s Emma Stevens

After graduating from fashion school, I moved to Fernie, British Columbia. I was excited to design clothes for real women. Women like me, who are always on the go, who want to be comfortable and casual but still look good and feel even better. 

I want the Untamed Fernie’s message to be confident and fun as well as strong and playful. I want my customers to look in the mirror and like what they see – look past the negative and be proud of the positive. We all have insecurities, so let’s eat healthily, get outside, be kind and wear clothes that fit, flatter and make you feel fabulous.

One of my Collections, called the Ego, has a super flattering shape, side gathers, hidden side pockets, long length, and a super cool piece of art on the back. I combine my love of art and fashion by collaborating with incredible local artists to design really unique back panels. 

I love working with these artists and seeing their stunning artwork become a funky hoodie made by me!

Here is how it works: All Ego designs come as pictured (colour of the body, sleeves, thumbholes (if sleeved design) and hem), and you get to choose the colour of your pockets and hood lining (if applicable) to give your special Untamed Creation a little personal touch. If you have the sleeved design, you also get to choose either black or blue sleeve cuffs.
